Remembering the blues...

Tonight, in this part of the world, there will be a blue moon. For most people, its a non-event. Well maybe it is due to the fact that they really do want to see the moon as blue. I guess I can't blame them. I belive that if the moon was really made of cheese, they'd still not believe it until they have actually tasted it.

Ah the things people will and will not believe.

I remember this one song that had lyrics which went like' " bluer than blue...". So I asked myself, how does something which is bluer than blue look like? I mean its not dark blue. Or the song would have said it. Right?

Sheesh! The things people do when there is nothing to do. Wuuuuuu! There I go again. If you're doing nothing, does it mean you're actually doing something?

I'm blabbering here aren't I? I'm freakin booooooooooooooooooored!
I know I have to do something but I'm just too lazy.

To be young and activist...

Most of us know that the University of the Philippines is THE #1 school in the country. But when it comes to Mindanao, although there is a UP Min, MSU-IIT is arguably the best. Some may say that MSU (the main campus) holds that distinction. Maybe but then again, maybe not. If these were the 70's or maybe 80's, I would definitely agree. But it's the new millenium. Times have definitely changed.

So what makes MSU-IIT the #1 school in Mindanao? Easy. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE. MSU-IIT has the brightest and best students in Mindanao. Our engineering graduates do well in board exams. Our education graduates do well in LET. Our CBA graduates also fare well. Even our CASS and SET and SCS students. Our science and mathematics departments are centers of excellence.

So do we have anything more to say? Alas there is. Because the problem with MSU-IIT students is they are only that. Academically excellent. Majority of them have absolutely no concern with the community at large. They live in their own little worlds. And they are happy with that.

They forget that the reason why they are there is partly due to the people. And I think that it is time for them to realize that. That they have to give something back to the community. That they must not wait until they graduate before doing so.

So what then must MSU-IIT students do? Let's leave that to the next blog.

To my little sis...

I was thinking about what you said and realized that you were right. What we have right now and why we have it makes us encounter many questions. But maybe the thing is not to be bothered by such.

Maybe its better if we just enjoy what we have. If we take it one day at a time. "Carpe diem!" as you always say.

So that's what i'm gonna do! So start off, I want to say "Thank You very much". Thank you for being there. Thank you for everything.
