BA...BEBI...BOBOY!!!!!

When I was a kid, there was this show that was the counterpart of the then famous Sesame Street. It was called Batibot. In the said show, there was a character named "Manang Bola". Who was, surprise surprise, a fortune teller. Someone would ask and then she would chant something like "ba,bebi,bobu...."

But then again, this isn't about her. Or even the show. Rather, it's about my fascination (obsession maybe) of the thing that I love to eat. BOBOY!

You see, many people have told me that I should cut down on eating it because of the cholesterol (what else is new?). Then I recently learned that most poultry growers put hormones in their chickens so that the hens would have less need for cocks (no pun intended... hehehe). So what if they have these "hormones"? Well, some say that it is because of these that some men may very well go to the "other side".

When I heard this, all I could say to myself was, "THANK GOD FOR PORK!". Add to the fact that my History 3 teacher said that one of the reasons why Muslims refrain from eating pork is because it is so delicious that they might forget ALLAH.

Now, there is a saying that says, "you are what you eat." Well lets see. I'm not dirty. I don't get satisfaction in wallowing in the mud. I'm not fat. Good thing too. Coz' if I was as big as my friend Geric (no offense intended bro), I probably would be the worst bully in history (which I may add, my friend isn't).

What am I saying here? Well, when it comes to food, never ever listen to what others. Just eat what you want. You live longer that way.

As a note, crabs have even more cholesterol. Good thing I'm allergic.

Curse you yahoo!

I was cleaning up my accounts. I mean with all the email accounts that I have and different groups and friendters that I maintain, I was at a loss at how to organize them. I had used only around two or three passwords but I decided to change it. It was such a security risk having only a few passwords.

Now here's the thing. I have a second friendster account devoted solely to chix. I know it sounds immature but hey, we all have our own trippings. So there I was, changing passwords. Then I checked on that yahoo account. Since the YM also had the "girls" in the list.

But then suddenly, I got a wrong password notice. I tried to retrieve it but I forgot what my settings were. Arrrrgh!

Damn this.

Sandara Perks

Of all the contestants of SCQ, none is more hated than Sandara Parks. It was because they were afraid that she would win it. So what then? Well, most people were rooting for Hero since, so they say, has more talent than Sandara. Had I been hooked on that show, I would have rooted for her. Why? I've always prefered the underdog.

Yet of all the contestants, finalists even, none is more remembered than Sandara Parks. I mean, who could ever evade that "Mahal ko kayo" thing with the matching wave.

Why am I even talking about her? Well, I remembered an article recently about the finalists. And in Sandara's part, it turns out that her ambition is to be a cast of a certain sitcom (i forgot which one). Also, it seems that she doesn't have any plans of going to college and getting a degree.

I know that she is not a pure Filipino, so to speak. But still, her being on TV and in the limelight poses a lot of questions. Aren't we afraid of her becoming a role model for the youth today? For one, she represents what most people in the D-E level. To have instant fame. Thus being able to support one's family.

It is no wonder that the Philippines is having a hard time progressing. With a mentality like this, it would be very impossible. At present, ,the Philippines is caught in some sort of paradox. If this were a sci-fi movie, it could be called a wormhole. Or an anomaly in the space-time continuum.

How so? Here goes...

Majority of Filipinos today want to work abroad. To seek out "greener pastures", so to speak. Why do they want to work abroad? Because there are few job opportunities here. Why? Because most multi-national companies are not willing to risk their invesments here. And those already in the Philippines are moving to other countries.

Again, why? Because they want to see first if our economy stabilizes. As well as the government bureaucracy. Now in order for this to happen, there must be job oppurtunities especially for those who are really skilled. But the government is currently going about on its "austerity" measures. Thus, a streamlining is likely to occur resulting in fewer jobs. So Filipinos go abroad to work. Which brings us back to the first question.

See what I mean? I call it the SANDARA ANOMALY.

Any ideas on how to solve it?
